All 31 hectares of vineyards lie within the city limits. Its history of more than 550 years makes the winery one of the oldest in Europe. As a member of the “Traditional Austrian Wineries” association, the winery is committed to cultivating historic, venerable vineyard sites. The young winemaking team has one goal: to produce purist terroir wines. Here, everything revolves around the Grüner Veltliner and Riesling varieties. Two climate zones also meet here: an oceanic climate in the west with mild winters and moderately warm summers, and a Pannonian climate in the east with very cold winters and dry summers. This leads to significant temperature differences between day and night and over a small area, balanced by the Danube.
