The Region

The northeastern Spanish region of Aragon encompasses the broad Ebro Valley and is dominated to the north by the Pyrenees, which supply the arid valley with water. Thanks to this location, the wines produced here have great potential. Small, outstanding wineries with a strong commitment to quality make Aragon—with its four DO regions of Cariñena, Calatayud, Campo de Borja, and Somontano—increasingly appealing to wine lovers. Red Garnacha and Tempranillo are the main varieties grown here.
