About Raetia Prima

Our vines thrive in Graubünden. They flourish in the mild climate and the local soil. The limestone-rich soils bring out the finest qualities of the Pinot Noir grape. The foehn valleys, where the vines grow, also enjoy higher temperatures and significantly more hours of sunshine than many other regions. This combination produces soft, fruity, full-bodied wines with intense concentration. Raetia Prima was already the name of the area from which these excellent wines came in the 1st century AD.

The region

Vines thrive in Graubünden, Switzerland’s third-largest wine-growing region by area. The mild climate and the soil help make Graubünden wines some of the most renowned in Switzerland. Limestone-rich slate soils bring out the finest qualities of the Pinot Noir grape, while the foehn valleys, where the vines grow, benefit from higher temperatures and significantly more hours of sunshine than many other regions. This combination produces soft, fruity, full-bodied and intensely concentrated red wines, as well as mineral, aromatic white wines.
