About Champagne Jacquart
Champagne Jacquart is a young, modern Champagne house brimming with optimism. Its mission: to turn the small pleasures of everyday life into special occasions for sharing and emotion. The excellence of its expertise serves a free spirit and a joyful, colourful vision of life, in which people feel free to indulge in life’s essential pleasures. The brand brings a more relaxed kind of luxury to the world of Champagne, offering less formal ways to enjoy it, with excellent quality at a fair price. Its straightforward, airy and refined character is the result of a mosaic of terroirs and the passion of talented winegrowers.
The region
With its comparatively cool climate, Champagne in northeastern France was the first region in the world to produce sparkling wine in larger quantities and is now synonymous with the highest product quality. Only sparkling wines from Champagne may be called Champagne; like wines from Bordeaux and Burgundy, they are a benchmark worldwide. The roots of the vigorous vines penetrate deep into the soil, which is made up of calcareous sediments and thus provides ideal conditions for water management. The best sites are on the slopes of the hills characteristic of the landscape. While a whole range of grape varieties used to be grown in Champagne, today the main varieties are Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay.
