About Château des Bormettes

Château des Bormettes has been a family-run winery since 1930. Today, under the direction of Fabrice Faré, the vineyard is being modernised and diversified, with a focus on the cellar. The selection of vines produces grapes of excellent quality. The winemaker and his passionate team are constantly reinventing themselves to craft wines with a unique flavour that stands out in Provence. Each cuvée is made using its own vinification process, giving it a distinctive character compared with other wines from Provence.

The region

Provence stretches from Avignon to the Southern Alps and is known for its lavender fields, its warm, mild climate – and its fresh, elegant rosé wines. The name comes from the Latin «Provincia», as the region of «Provincia Narbonensis» in the far south-east of the country was one of the first and most thoroughly Romanised areas outside Italy, and the town of Arles was an important trading centre. Long, dry summers and up to 3,000 hours of sunshine a year make Provence perfect for viticulture. Combined with fairly strong winds, including the well-known Mistral, they ensure that vine diseases have little chance to take hold. In the mild climate of this French holiday region, people enjoy fresh fish and vegetables in the shade, with a pleasant breeze – for example, in the form of petit farcis or bouillabaisse.
