Château la Favière AOC Bordeaux Supérieur 2020 Red Wine – 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon come together to create this harmonious, very long-lasting wine. Aged for 12 months in oak barriques, it displays a generous, deep red colour and a highly precise bouquet that combines the sweet aromas of ripe berries with the autumnal scent of undergrowth. On the palate, it reveals a delicate harmony and lovely volume, with dense, mellow tannins. A wine with a long finish.

About Château la Favière

Château La Favière presents superb, ready-to-drink Bordeaux wines brimming with power and elegance, whose harmony appeals to all the senses. Typical grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grow in Saint-Surin sur l’Isle, in the Saint-Emilion area. The soil is a mix of sand and gravel, with a layer of clay beneath, and thanks to the climatic influence of the nearby Atlantic, the grapes ripen to perfection.

The Region

More top wines come from prestigious Bordeaux than from any other wine-growing region. Named after the eponymous trading city, the region lies on the Atlantic coast at the estuary of the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. The vineyards hug the Gironde and the rivers that flow into it, across more than 50 appellations. Pine forests in the south protect the region from the strong, salty winds from the Atlantic, keeping the climate mild and temperatures rarely falling below freezing. Long, warm summers are perfect for late-ripening grape varieties and therefore for producing fine, subtle wines with ageing potential. The most famous and widely grown Bordeaux grape variety worldwide is Cabernet Sauvignon, although Merlot is the most widely planted. A layer of gravel and sand covers the region’s limestone bedrock, allowing the vines to take deep root and ensuring excellent drainage.
