Château Reverdi Listrac-Médoc AC Cru Bourgeois 2019 Red Wine – A well-balanced, full-bodied, smooth and fruity red wine. Deep red with slight brownish reflections. Medium-bodied, fairly complex bouquet. Plenty of berry fruit (blackberry, gooseberry, blackcurrant), along with stone fruit (plum, damson) and dried fruit (prune, raisin). The tasting team also noted spice (liquorice), toasted aromas (cocoa/chocolate, smoke) and slightly earthy notes (earth, undergrowth). Dry on the palate. The tannins are still slightly present, but overall the wine is fairly soft, full-bodied and harmonious. On the retronasal finish, the aromas mentioned above are complemented by subtle vegetal notes and a touch of peppery spice. Medium-length finish.

About Château Reverdi

In the idyllic hamlet of Donissan, northeast of the commune of Listrac-Médoc, the Thomas family of winemakers produces impressive wines with great dedication and expertise. Château Reverdi may not boast a magnificent château façade, but it delivers outstanding results in both the vineyard and the cellar. Thanks to its advantageous geographical location, the estate produces full-bodied yet subtle wines that have become a true insider tip thanks to their excellent value for money and are celebrated by the international wine press.

The region

The prestigious Bordeaux region produces more top-quality wines than any other wine-growing region. Named after the trading city of the same name, the area lies on the Atlantic coast where the Garonne and Dordogne rivers meet the sea. The vineyards hug the Gironde and its tributary rivers, across more than 50 appellations. Pine forests to the south protect the region from the strong, salt-laden winds off the Atlantic, resulting in a mild climate where temperatures rarely fall below freezing. Long, warm summers are ideal for late-ripening grape varieties and thus for producing fine, subtle wines with good ageing potential. The most famous and widely grown Bordeaux grape variety worldwide is Cabernet Sauvignon, although Merlot is the most widely planted. A layer of gravel and sand covers the region’s limestone bedrock, allowing the vines to root deeply and water to drain away exceptionally well.
