Domaine Lafage Bastide Miraflors Côtes du Roussillon AOP 2023 Red Wine – This ruby-red blend is balanced and fruity. Its intense bouquet is dominated by notes of ripe wild berries, followed by cherry, plum and sour cherry, with a hint of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is slightly sweet, with beautifully prominent tannins and a harmonious, full-bodied structure. Berry, dried-fruit and toasted notes are rounded off by stone-fruit nuances and a touch of spice (liquorice), as well as a long finish.

About Domaine Lafage

Between the sea and the mountains, along the route between Perpignan and the Mediterranean coast, Domaine Lafage is based in a 15th-century country house built from old stone. After six generations of winemakers, the experienced winemaking couple Jean-Marc and Éliane Lafage now run the estate, whose cellars have been completely rebuilt and fitted out to the latest international standards. The vines thrive in a varied, diverse terroir, and the Lafages work with a motivated team of highly qualified staff to turn their grapes into modern, on-trend wines.

The region

In the south of France, adjoining the Rhône Valley geographically, the Languedoc, the country's largest wine region, stretches along the Mediterranean coastline with its vineyards and picturesque old stone houses. The climate is characterised by abundant sunshine, mild winters and hot summers. The vines that thrive here—mostly in limestone soils—are vigorous and strong due to the region's dry conditions. Alongside viticulture, olive growing is the dominant agricultural activity here; the olives also thrive without artificial irrigation. The Languedoc is an exceptionally colourful region: the Mediterranean flair is palpable everywhere, in the traditional earthenware, the airy fabrics and the light, delicious dishes.
