Grupo Valdecuevas Cuvée Verdejo Rueda DO 2023 White Wine – Valdecuevas Cuvée is a unique Verdejo in limited quantities. It is aged in microtanks and French oak barrels, combining the grape's typical aromas with subtle oak notes. In the glass, it is pale straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose is intense, elegant and complex, with ripe white fruit, mineral, smoky and spicy accents. On the palate, it is soft, silky, balanced and long-lasting, with a mineral finish.

About Grupo Valdecuevas

Bodega Valdecuevas is located in the heart of the Rueda appellation in Castile and León and is run by the Martin family, who have been rooted in the agricultural and food sector for over 40 years. The vines thrive at an altitude of 770 metres on six plots around Rueda and La Seca, where stony soils and the continental climate with hot days and cool nights create ideal conditions. The focus is on the indigenous Verdejo grape, which produces fresh, distinctive white wines, complemented by Sauvignon Blanc and Tempranillo. Strictly limited yields, modern cellar techniques and great passion ensure wines that embody personality, elegance and the signature of the terroir.

The Region

Castile and León comprises the northern half of the great central Spanish plateau. It extends from central Spain almost to the northern coast; the vineyards are situated at altitudes of 700 to 1,000 metres. Despite its proximity to the Atlantic, the climate is continental, with hot, dry summers, icy winters and significant temperature fluctuations between day and night. As it also rains very little, the soils are nutrient-poor – except near the region's many rivers, the most famous of which is the Duero, where significantly more minerals and clay can be found.
