About Kaiken

The name Kaiken comes from the Patagonian wild goose, known as Kaiken to the indigenous Mapuche people. The Region

Salta, in the far north of Argentina, is home to some of the world’s highest-altitude vineyards, with vines grown at elevations of up to 3,000 metres above sea level. Salta’s proximity to the equator—the region lies on the same latitude as Egypt—balances out the normally expected cool climate, creating ideal conditions for winegrowing. Many vineyards are located in mountainous terrain on stony, clay and sandy soils.
