Leonardo da Vinci Vitruvian Chianti DOCG 2022 Red Wine – This balanced garnet-red wine with subtle violet hues enchants with a delicate bouquet of cherry, chocolate and redcurrant. On the palate, it is slightly sparkling, with a touch of sweetness on the attack, lovely harmony and pronounced tannins. A soft, full-bodied structure carries the aromatic fruit, while a lingering finish rounds off the experience.

About Leonardo da Vinci

500 YEARS OF WINE EXPERTISE: for half a millennium, the world has known that Leonardo da Vinci was a brilliant inventor and artist. Less well known is the fact that Leonardo came from a winemaking family in the Tuscan village of Vinci and that wine was his great passion. Villa Da Vinci, the estate where Leonardo grew up in the 16th century and where his family had been growing vines for 500 years, still exists today, surrounded by beautiful vineyards. Inspired by life on the estate, Leonardo also applied his genius to researching viticulture and developing new methods to continually improve wine quality. He recorded his findings in letters and sketches. Today, the wines of Cantina Leonardo da Vinci are made according to the traditional Metodo Leonardo® – from growing the grapes to vinification.

The region

Alongside Piedmont, Tuscany is probably Italy’s most famous wine-growing region. The Etruscans cultivated vines there long before the Romans, making it one of Europe’s oldest wine-growing areas. Tuscany is known chiefly – and with justifiable pride – for the world-famous Chianti and Brunello. In fact, however, Tuscany is Italy’s largest producer of premium wines. Blessed with abundant sunshine, cooled by sometimes strong sea breezes and still receiving sufficient rain, Tuscan vines produce outstanding wines on poor limestone, clay and sandstone soils, as well as on various combinations of these soil types, much admired by wine lovers around the world.
