Montes Folly DO 2020 Red Wine – Deep, black-red color and a very intense yet elegant bouquet with fresh dark fruits such as blackberries, blueberries, and plums, along with a hint of chocolate and coconut. Flavors of blackberries, mocha, coffee, and fine spices are supported by silky, firm tannins, followed by a pleasant freshness and a very long finish. About Montes

The Region

The Central Valley is – in terms of wine volume – one of the most important and largest wine-growing regions in South America. It extends from the coastal plains of western Colchagua to the Andean foothills of Puente Alto and is divided into the sub-regions of Colchagua and Cachapoal. Spanning 400 kilometers in length, it offers great climatic diversity and very varied soils, resulting in an enormous range of wines, from traditional Chilean to fashionable Bordeaux-style wines. In any case, Chile's star grape, Carmenere, plays the lead role here. However, in the cooler regions, winemakers are increasingly experimenting with grape varieties such as Viognier, Riesling, and even Gewürztraminer.
