Saint Genis des Tanyères Grenache Syrah Côtes Catalanes IGP 2024 Red Wine – A full-bodied and rich, intensely ruby-red wine with a powerful, complex bouquet of roasted aromas, raisins, milk chocolate, ripe blackberries and prunes. On the palate, it reveals a slight initial sweetness and once again the opulent roasted and fruity aromas, complemented by notes of ripe strawberries and pepper, supported by a harmonious, dense, balanced structure and rounded off by an impressively long, very persistent finish.

About Saint Genis des Tanyères

Sheltered by the foothills of the easternmost Pyrenean mountain, Canigou, the vines for Saint Genis des Tanyères grow. Due to river deposits, the pebbles are large and rounded and permeate the surface of the soil. The vines must therefore dig their roots deep into the earth; vigorous vines and healthy grapes are the result.

The Region

In southern France, geographically adjacent to the Rhône Valley, the country's largest wine region, Languedoc, nestles along the Mediterranean coastline with its vineyards and picturesque old stone houses. The climate is characterized by plenty of sunshine, mild winters and hot summers. The vines that thrive here—mostly on limestone soils—are vigorous and strong due to the region's aridity. In addition to viticulture, olive cultivation dominates the agricultural landscape, with olives also thriving without artificial irrigation. Languedoc is an exceptionally colorful region: the Mediterranean flair is palpable everywhere—in the typical earthenware, the airy fabrics and the light, flavorful dishes.
