About Siddùra

The discovery of an abandoned, old vineyard in the breathtaking landscape of Gallura inspired the winemakers of Siddùra to take on a new challenge and helped to make an old dream come true. The Siddùra winery describes itself as a love letter to Sardinia, a tribute to the purity, simplicity, and tradition of the island. A perfect combination of soil, terroir, and weather in the midst of nature, close to the sea, produces uniquely distinctive wines.

The Region

Wine has been made on Sardinia, Italy's second-largest island, for a very long time. Civilizations such as the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, and Spaniards have left their mark, leading to a great diversity of grape varieties. Historically, linguistically, and culturally, Sardinia seems disconnected from Italy; therefore, it is no wonder that most of the significant grape varieties are of Spanish origin. In Sardinia, we will certainly find a large number of grape varieties that are as distinctive as the Sardinians themselves. From these, a growing number of winemakers produce equally individual yet outstanding wines, which are considered a well-kept secret by many. Generally, the Mediterranean climate shapes Sardinia, although it is rather cool in the north and very dry on the south coast; the soils are partly loamy in the inland areas and rather sandy along the coast.
