About Tenuta Sant’Antonio
Four brothers and a passion that originated in their father’s vineyards in San Zeno di Colognola ai Colli in Valpolicella, where the most famous wines of Verona are produced: Amarone, Valpolicella, and Soave. Today, Tenuta Sant’Antonio is one of the most renowned wineries in Valpolicella and is primarily known for its powerful red wines—its Amarone is considered one of the best in the world. Since 1989, this traditional winery has produced excellent, highly acclaimed wines of the highest quality that, despite their complexity, are extremely approachable and thus promise maximum drinking pleasure.
The Region
Veneto, known in the local language as Veneto, is one of Italy’s most popular wine regions thanks to its major tourist hub, Venice—and one of the country’s three largest. Geographically, Veneto is extremely diverse: one-third of the region is covered by mountain ranges, while its central plains feature extensive rice fields and a long stretch of coastline. Venetian wines are correspondingly varied. Stony, limestone-rich soil covered with red and brown earth provides the vines with excellent growing conditions, while the Alps, whose foothills border the vast northern area, protect the region from harsher Northern European weather and ensure a balanced climate. In the warmer plains along the Adriatic coast, red grape varieties are predominantly cultivated; the cooler areas produce excellent white wines, the most famous of which is undoubtedly Prosecco.
